The Focus JAM² 6.7 is a 2026 full-suspension electric mountain bike for riders whose local trails start with a climb. Its Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 motor answers your pedalling on steep, loose climbs, so you reach the top with legs left for the good bit.
It's a full-power Bosch trail bike on a robust alloy frame, without paying for carbon. Book a test ride in Ivanhoe and take it up a hill before you decide.
John says...
’Most of the rides our customers love start with a climb, and that's where the JAM² 6.7 earns its place. The Bosch CX motor answers your pedalling straight away, even on slippery, technical climbs, so you get to the top with legs left for the descent. The frame is tough alloy, made to be ridden hard. When it needs a service, it comes back to our workshop in Ivanhoe. Come in, take it up a hill on a test ride, and you'll feel it on the first climb.‘
Focus JAM² 6.7 electric mountain bike
The climb is where most local rides are won or lost. The Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 gives 85 Nm as specified, with a 120 Nm update available through the Bosch Flow App. Reviewers riding the JAM² platform say the Gen 5 motor responds quickly and naturally to your input on slippery technical climbs, and that the rattle of the previous motor generation is gone, so the descent stays quiet. The climb stops being the price you pay for the descent.
More trail in the hours you have
When the climbs stop draining you, the Sunday loop has room for a second lap, or the link trail you usually skip. And if your rides have been getting shorter, the motor answers your pedalling so they get long again. Keep riding the trails you ride.
Riders take the JAM² 6.7 on
- Local trail loops that start with a climb
- A second lap before the morning runs out
- Steep, loose and slippery technical climbs
- Big all-day and high-country rides, with the range extender fitted
- The ride from your front door to the trailhead
- Keeping up with mates who've gone electric on the climbs
- Getting back on the trails after time off the bike
Suspension and frame
The suspension keeps it playful
Full suspension pairs a RockShox Psylo Silver RC fork with 160 mm of travel and a RockShox Deluxe Select DebonAir+ shock driving 150 mm of rear travel on Focus's F.O.L.D. kinematics. Reviewers describe the JAM² platform as fun and agile on the trail, a bike that gets back to the essence of trail riding.
The frame is built to be ridden hard
It's 7005 hydroformed aluminium, with the weld seams ground and levelled around the head tube and the semi-integrated shock mount for a clean finish. Flow describes the alloy JAM² as offering "robust, trail-ready reliability". The two-tone metallic paint runs right through to a painted main link.
Range, battery and weight limit
How far will it go?
That depends on your weight, the terrain, the assist mode you ride in and the temperature, so it changes from ride to ride. What you choose is the battery.
- A Bosch PowerTube 600 Wh Li-Ion battery to start
- The frame also takes the 800 Wh PowerTube with a different down tube cover; ask us about it
- The Bosch 250 Wh range extender fits every frame size, for up to 1,050 Wh on a big alpine day
Plan your loop with the Bosch range assistant, or bring your route to the showroom and we'll talk it through. The battery is removable, so you can charge it indoors or lift it out to lighten the bike for the car rack. It pivots out of the frame, and the covered charging socket sits on the seat tube.
Is the JAM² 6.7 suitable for heavier riders?
It carries a 150 kg permissible system weight, and that counts the bike's own 25.6 kg (600 Wh, size M, without pedals). On a size M, that leaves about 124 kg for you, your riding kit and your pedals. Do that sum before you book. BIKE magazine calls the rating "a massive plus for heavier riders".

Questions people ask
Is this the 2026 Focus JAM² 6.7?
Yes. The 2026 build runs a Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 motor, a Bosch PowerTube 600 Wh battery, Shimano CUES 10-speed gearing and 29 in wheels. If you've seen a JAM² 6.7 with a different battery, wheel size or gearing, that was an earlier build.
Is the Focus JAM² 6.7 good value for a full-power e-MTB?
You get the full-power Bosch system, a frame built to be ridden hard, a battery that grows with your rides and a workshop that looks after it, without paying for carbon. BIKE magazine's verdict, as Focus publishes it: the JAM² 6.7 "combines riding fun and safety even in the affordable version".
Is the JAM² 6.7 good for hard downhill riding?
It's set up for trail riding: fun and big days out. If most of your riding is hard downhill, ask us about a longer-travel Focus model.
Isn't an electric mountain bike cheating?
You still pedal. The motor answers the effort you put in, so the ride stays yours.
Book a test ride in Ivanhoe and take the JAM² 6.7 up a climb. Ride it before you decide.
