Kalkhoff Entice 7.B Move in grey, step-through frame, side view

Kerbs, tram tracks, the gravel at the end of the path: the Kalkhoff Entice 7.B Move e-bike has suspension at both ends to take them.

It is full suspension on a low step-through frame. The air suspension front and rear adjusts to your weight, so the bike takes the strain and you keep riding the roads you already have. Both feet go flat on the ground at the lights. Book a test ride at our Ivanhoe showroom and feel the difference on the first kerb.

John says...

’If your bike sends every pothole and tram track straight into you, this is the one to try. It has suspension at both ends, and you set it to your own weight, so it soaks the road up instead of passing it on. The frame is low enough to step straight through, so both feet are flat on the ground at the lights. Come to Ivanhoe, ride it over a kerb, and see whether it takes the strain out of your ride.‘

Kalkhoff Entice 7.B Move e-bike

What it is for

  • The ride to work, over the kerbs and tram tracks
  • The shops and errands, with a bag or panniers on the rear rack
  • The river path
  • A gravel rail trail on the weekend
  • The hill on your usual route

Made for riding from your door on roads, paths and gravel rail trails. If you need to carry a child seat, choose a bike with a rack rated for one.

Your everyday ride comes home calm

Air suspension takes the bumps at both ends: a Suntour Zeron36 Air fork at the front and an air rear shock at the back.

  • Air suspension, front and rear, set to your weight. Velomotion notes the air suspension adjusts for riders from 60 to 120 kg.
  • Kerbs, cobbles, tram tracks and loose gravel stop at the bike.
  • The ride home is calm, so the bike takes the strain and you ride more often.

Velomotion, the German e-bike magazine, tested the Entice 7+ Move (the maker's name for this bike) in June 2025. Its verdict:

"a comfortable and fun electric SUV that scores highly with its comfort, robustness, and versatility"

Its pros list starts with "Comfortable air suspension", and in the video the tester calls it one of the most comfortable, most fun and most versatile everyday bikes.

Velomotion notes that many manufacturers cut corners here and fit steel springs that cannot be adjusted properly. This bike has air suspension you set to your own weight.

An upright riser bar and an adjustable stem set your seating position, and the tester found the Selle Royal Vivo saddle stays comfortable on longer, more strenuous rides.

Watch Velomotion ride it

The video covers the air suspension, the deep step-through and the 170 kg rating (in German, June 2025).

A long, easy day on a gravel rail trail

Put a bag or panniers on the rear rack, which takes up to 25 kg, and head out for the weekend. The suspension keeps the loose surface from wearing you out, and the mudguards and built-in lights are already on the bike.

One bike does the week's trips and the weekend's gravel. A day out with a partner or friend stays comfortable for whoever is riding.

The hill on your usual route

The Bosch Performance Line CX is a mid-drive motor on Bosch's Smart System. Bring your hill to the test ride and try it.

Step-through frame and carrying weight

Step straight through, with both feet down at the lights

  • A low Wave frame on 27.5 in wheels, chosen for a deep step-through and a low standover height.
  • Getting on and off is easier: Velomotion says the 27.5 in wheels "make mounting and dismounting easier, which provides an additional safety aspect".
  • A dropper seat post, with a lever on the handlebar, lowers the saddle as you roll up to a stop, so both feet reach the ground.
  • Sizes S, M and L, and we size you in the showroom.

170 kg in total, riders up to 120 kg

Total weight is you, the bike and everything on it. Take a 100 kg rider on a bike of about 33 kg: that is 133 kg, which leaves about 37 kg of the 170 kg for luggage, and the rack takes up to 25 kg of that.

Velomotion calls a 170 kg rating "not often found in this full-suspension class", and the air suspension adjusts for riders up to 120 kg.

Battery, charging and range

Charge it where it suits you

The Bosch PowerTube 600 Wh battery is built into the down tube. Charge it in the bike through the port high on the frame, or lift it out and take it inside. The bike weighs from 33 kg with the battery in, and the battery comes out before the bike goes on a car rack.

How far will it go?

Bosch's own Range Assistant estimates, by assist mode:

  • TURBO: 83 km
  • SPORT: 89 km
  • TOUR: 101 km
  • ECO: 135 km

Bosch's conditions for these figures: Performance Line CX with a PowerTube 600 battery, hybrid tyres, 100 kg total weight including bike and luggage, 18 km/h average speed, 60 rpm cadence, a mixed tour with some inclines on mostly good asphalt, light breezes, in summer.

Rider and load weight, hills, wind, cold, tyres and the assist mode you choose all change how far you go. Bosch says:

"The calculated data comprises estimates and approximations that may vary from the actual result. The precise data will vary, depending on the type of use and the external influences."

Is it right for you?

Kalkhoff, German bike maker since 1919

The Entice 7+ is Kalkhoff's top level of the Entice range, with full suspension on a step-through frame. Its drive is the current Bosch Performance Line CX on the Bosch Smart System, serviced in our own Ivanhoe workshop.

Before you decide

Check three things on the test ride: how the frame feels when you step through, how the bike feels to wheel (it weighs from 33 kg, and the battery lifts out), and that the size suits you. We size you in the showroom.

Questions people ask about the Kalkhoff Entice 7.B Move

How heavy is the Kalkhoff Entice 7.B Move?

From 33 kg with the 600 Wh battery. The low frame makes getting on and off easy, and the battery lifts out when the bike goes on a car rack. It is made for riding from your door: if the bike has to be carried up stairs every day, a lighter bike suits you better. Feel the weight on the test ride.

Is the Entice 7.B Move good value?

You get comfort on every ride: air suspension front and rear that adjusts to your weight, and a 170 kg total rating the tester calls "not often found in this full-suspension class". Add the Bosch Performance Line CX, a 10 year frame warranty after registration and a first service included at 300 km, serviced in our Ivanhoe workshop. The test ride shows what that comfort is worth on the roads you ride.

Will you look after the bike once I have bought it?

Yes. We service every bike we sell in our own workshop in Ivanhoe, your first service is included at 300 km, and the drive is the current Bosch Performance Line CX on the Bosch Smart System.

Which version is this? Is it the current model?

This is Kalkhoff's model-year 2026 Australian build: Bosch Performance Line CX, 600 Wh battery, Shimano CUES 10-speed, step-through Wave frame, full suspension. The maker lists it as the Entice 7+ Move.

Is an electric bike legal to ride where I live?

Kalkhoff specifies a 250 W rated Bosch motor. E-bike rules are set by each state, so check your state transport authority's e-bike page before you ride.

Can I fit a child seat on the rack?

The rear rack carries a bag or panniers up to 25 kg. A child seat needs a rack rated for one, so for school runs choose a bike built to carry a child.

How do I charge the battery?

Charge it in the bike through the port high on the frame, or lift it out and charge it indoors. Use the original Bosch charger that comes with the Bosch Smart System.

Can I put the bike on a car rack?

Take the battery out first, as the maker requires. The battery lifts out, which also makes the bike lighter to lift.

Will it suit my height?

It comes in S, M and L on 27.5 in wheels. As a guide, S suits riders from about 150 to 166 cm, M 160 to 186 cm and L 174 to 191 cm. The 27.5 in wheels let smaller riders have a full-suspension bike, and we advise a test fit if you are under about 160 cm.

Does the Entice 7.B Move have a chain or a belt?

A chain: a Shimano CN-LG500 on a Shimano CUES Linkglide 11 to 48 tooth cassette. The tester found the drivetrain shifts cleanly under motor load, and our workshop services it.

Which Kalkhoff Entice suits me if I want ABS or the biggest battery?

The Kalkhoff Entice 7.B ABS has Bosch ABS and an 800 Wh battery. For fully loaded, multi-day tours that want the most range from one charge, ask us about that one.
